[SOLVED] WS2805 RGBCCT flickering on same led sextets

Hi,
I’m not expert but I suppose WS2805 RGBCCT is usable as WS2805 RGBCW on wled 0.15.0-b4.
So my 20mt of WS2805 RGBCCT 24V are configured as WS2805 RGBCW (the only one available in the 0.15.0-b4 nightly build), but I have a flickering problem.
That’s not the common flickering: it is addressed on the same LEDs…
Some 6-group-led (2, 11, 21) are flickering with alternate colours and don’t turn off when I switch off the strip. I tried a large amount of configurations and the issue is always the same. I’ve changed the D line with the B line (backup) and the segments affected are shifted 1 place forward (2, 12 , 22).
If I disconnect the controller, they stop changing color and remains with the color they had at the moment of the disconnection.
I’ve changed both the controller and the strip, with same result… I’ve cut the strip and resorted the piece with a new one and the problem stay there.
The rest of the strip works perfectly blending correctly the RGB and the 2 whites.

With those tests I suppose it is a wled-side issue, so I ask if someone has suggestions that can help me.

Are those the correct conditions for opening a issue on the issue tracker?

Thank you!

most likely not a wled issue. fix your hardware.
what controller is that? and what levelshifter does it have?
sounds more like a data signal problem.

Thank you for the suggestion.
My oscilloscope was saying that the signal was good in level and quality at the start of its world tour…
I finally discovered that the B0, the data backup pin, the 4th pin, must be connected to GND in order to avoid interferences (!!!).
I don’t imagine where those interferences were created, but it fixed my issue after 2 days of fixing everything that was working, changing pieces of strip and driving crazy…
I think that an advice about that should be written somewhere… On the datasheet, in example.
My controller is a SMLight A1-SLWF-03.
It was a nice discovery for me, nothing could better.

Hi, I’m a new girl here. Could you tell me if the sound reaction option works correctly with the SMLight A1-SLWF-03 regulator?
and the WS 2805 RGBCCT strip.
If you have configured this, could you show images of the configuration on the controller?
You mention that you have connected the second data strip to GND, but I have a doubt about the GND of the regulator or transformer, or it is indifferent.
Thank you so much.

Hi,
It works, but I had no time for the fine tuning. I’m using AGC with squelch set basing on the room. I/O settings are the same you find in the default firmware provided with the device.
Don’t matter where you connect backup line to ground, but if you cut the strip you have to reconnect backup line or put it to ground on the strip.
The only firmware supporting that strip is 0.15.

Thank you very much for your quick response. I understand that the regulator is already predefined for plug and play with firmware 0.15?

No, it comes with 0.13, on the producer site you can upgrade to 0.14 via USB.
0.15 is available on the unofficial web installer site:
https://wled-install.github.io/

I have this version installed from the page “install .wled. me”
on an ESP32 I show you the image:

Do you think this is the version that would work?

Could you indicate how to configure this part for SMLight A1-SLWF-03 regulator:

I suppose it is the necessary one.
Although you mention version 0.15.0-b4 as valid, I have not found more than this version 0.15.0-b5 also on the page you point out. I imagine you are referring to this version that I marked in the image:

The forum only allows one image, I leave the links of the other two in the post without the “https://” part and a space at the end of the link where the extension

The version you highlighted is the correct one.
Choose the correct led type and gpio.

Reactive configuration is correct. The controller has digital mic at those addresses. Turn on AGC, I suggest “vivid”.
