Super Mini ESP32-S3 - Correct Board Type?

Hi.

I have a few of these Teyleten Robot Super Mini ESP32-S3 boards. Using the web installer, goes through the erase and install phases, but upon completion, it only offers to install WLED again. No AP shows up, so I assume that the flash never actually gets committed.

I tried flashing with visual studio code, but I can’t seem to find an appropriate board type, as I always get this message:

Uploading .pio\build\esp32dev\firmware.bin
esptool.py v3.1
Serial port COM10
Connecting…

A fatal error occurred: This chip is ESP32-S3(beta3) not ESP32. Wrong --chip argument?

Does anyone know which is the correct type, or how I would go about defining a new board, if none are already available? Also, I’d like to keep it as vanilla as possible…

Thanks!

Edit 1: Okay, esp32s3_4M_qspi seems to work. Maybe the web installer did too, so I need to double check. These boards need to be put into flash mode by pressing and holding Boot, and then pressing reset. After that you hold them for a couple of seconds and release both buttons. Apparently however, they do not reset after that, which is probably why no AP shows up.

Edit 2: After flashing the QSPI firmware, the web installer recognizes the board

Trying the web installer again, the board is erased, and installed, but after that it remains without WLED installed.

Power cycling the board doesn’t yield the AP, so I assume that this type of board isn’t supported (properly?) by the web installer.

No action required…

My Dad and I have designed a board we’re selling on Amazon, and it uses the 4MB ESP32 s3. If you check out this page on my website I have a link to a working web installer with instructions.

And the latest v15 betas work too now if you select the correct build.
