Choosing a source for ws2812b led strip

Hello, I need advice on choosing a resource for my project.

I have two LED strips, each 5m long. There are 60 LEDs in one meter. I would like to create 10 tubes. Each tube would have 60 LEDs. 30 on one side and 30 on the other side. The LED strip is 5v.

I want to use wled 2d matrix. Mostly drip effect. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/eY-2DjejGaw According to the specifications, I would need a 40A power supply. But those tubes will never shine completely and fully white. What source should I use? 40A really doesn’t want to buy.

Thanks for the advice.

Can’t anyone really help me? I registered just for this one thing and no one can help.

Hi, you should configure your led strip in WLED. It will tell you what you need for power supply and what power supply is enough for most effects.

Your first post is from yesterday, you can’t have respond with in minute.

When using a strip of 10 meters long with 60 LEDs per meter, it needs a 34A source. But that will only be the value when all LEDs are lit white with maximum brightness. I assume that for the drip effect or other flashing effect a significantly weaker source will be enough. Maybe a 20A source would also be enough, but I don’t know. I could use a strip that only has 30 per meter, for 10 meters a 17A source would be enough. But with that strip the animation is not so nice anymore.

For 600 LEDs of WS2812B, WLED estimates 12A is enough for most effects.

Oh thank you, you helped me a lot.
