How to set percentage without animating

Hi, new to WLED, impressed, but have questions.

I’ve setup a segment with the ‘percentage’ effect. I’m intending to update the percentage (intensity) setting, to reflect the progress of something (doesn’t really matter what, I guess).

This works, but if I up the percentage from 50% to 60%, all leds from 0 to 60% ‘animate’ to fill up to the set value. I would love it if just the change animated (or no animation at all). This is to distracting for my use right now…

Is there a way to achieve this?

I was going that route, but the speed option isn’t there yet in the installed stable release.

This makes things so much easier on the home assistant side… I won’t need to dynamically change segment length etc!

the speed slider got dropped by accident a few years ago but the option is implemented. you can still set sx=255 so it will accept it, but the slider is missing in the UI.
