Im stuck and need some help, data lines

Hi all,

Done a lot of reasearch and tried many different things but can get any resolution.
2 data lines come from SN74. One data line is about 1.5m, other ones is about 6m max.
Used a bunch of resistors (will add photos) and not getting any inprovment. Dont know where im going wrong if someome could please help with some ideas

wrong resistors, need to be in the range of 33R-330R not 33k and up.

6m is also a long way. You may end up needing a Data Booster/F-Amp 1/2 way from the controller to that strip.

Offering an alternate option, try one of these ultra tiny assembled controllers and mount it right at the start of the strip. They don’t need separate USB power, so real easy to hide away at the start of a run.

Or other options on: Home Is Where The Smart Is

Okay thanks have gone and got a bunch of different R resistors in 0.5w but dont seem to be making any change. Have put a 1W resistor on and makes more of an improvement?

Yea sure is, i have moved the esp32 up to roof so now only has like 1.5m and still no chnage to result..

I like this solution!
If wasnt in a rush for an opening event would of consider for sure

Ahhh shame, well you can always keep us in mind for future projects. The power flexibility really opens up some helpful options.

Plus they all have on board mics for audio effects, and IR receivers will be coming soon too.

resistors can be small, power is not important but the value. 100 Ohms is a good staring point. also I just noticed you put the wrong shifter IC, it must be (A)HCT, you got a HC type which might be the source of your issues
