More ram for wled

Hi guys just a humble question… sorry if its already been answered elsewhere…

Buuuuurt…

I have a large matrix ran by esp32 4mb.
And what im doing with it is using up ram. As it should. But in General i would need more ram for presets ect…

So which esp32 variant has the most usable “ram” for wled storage. And if there is one… how is it configured for use. I ask this as i read somewhere that there maybe a 4mb limit or something.

I guess the browser install create the file system then flashing wled ? Ive only done that with esp32 4mb.
Ive also done it via cli so know the two parts do happen. Still learning all i can … lol

There is boards with 8mb and 16mb of flash memory available.

That won’t help if the limit is RAM and not flash.
There are boards with PSRAM to extend that but I don’t know if WLED makes use of it.

I know i uaed the word ram, what ever the soace that fills as presets are added segment…

Low memory warning pop up and not really done that much.

Specifically what board will give this head room. There are too many variants to know which “one: is the one”

You may want to ask on MM Discord as you are using MM fork. It may have different behaviour.
