Reboot timer, reset on timer, etc

It’d be great if there was a simple option in the GUI for a timed reset per day/week/month.

There’s a funny thing going on with one of my patterns, it degrades over time. A reset sorts it out.

I bet a timed reset would be useful for all sorts of other bugs.

How could a timed reset most easily be done?

I’ve thought of rebuilding firmware by pio with a reset timer built in. I’ve also had recommended making a .json config/script thing but I tried and failed… perhaps someone else here would know how to write such a thing.

What version are you running?

Why not do it the easy way ( i just tested that and it rebooted on the selected time )

On the other hand you should aim to fix the issue and not mask it

What do you mean by “degrades”?

This is the preset command that degrades. I don’t know who made or maintains this pattern. It’s normally all flowy n pleasant, gradually it stops moving and becomes chunks of stopped pattern.

yup, that did it

What is the time frame when this happens?

You may need to contact Andrew Tuline as he is the original author of the effect and may best know its internal workings.

And BTW it is not necessary to reboot ESP just switch effects and it should start over.

Takes about 4 days.

I’ll pop him an email.
