12v led strip can;t get it to work

I am trying my first LED project.. 12v led strip.
I installed WLED on my chip and i can connect.. powered it with an extarnal 5v pack
and wired the strip to a 12v pack. green cable in the D4 i think i have every think setup like it should.
but only the first few lights blink.. when i turn of in the web interface the lights stay on. and when i touch any of the powerpacks or the chip. the first few lights start shining white.
What am i doing wrong.. taking me hours already.

8 lights burning sometimes a bit more.. strange thing is when touching the powerpacks they stop flickering and turn white only those first few

i think my settings are oke: WS2815 DC12V, Black PCB, 5M 60 IP67
Maximum PSU Current : 4000

changed GPIO to 4.. because i am on D4 so thought that might help
all leds are on some in a random color others are blinking..l but in the app i have it on solid color

You don’t have common ground. You need to connect a ground wire from your Esp to your negative wago. All DC Grounds need to be common. Wiring Guides - WLED Project If they still don’t work after that you would need to add a proper levelshifter

*Also, Your BI or Backup Data should be connected to Ground (negative)
