ESP-01 doesn't start

There are problems with my ESP-01. If i leave the data wire to the neopixel Stripes, the ESP starts. But if the wire ist connected, nothing starts!
I have a resistor between the GPIO2 and the LEDs and a pullup between 3,3v and GPIO2.
What else could i do?

Use 4k7 pull-up resistor on GPIO2. That may help.
The other option is to use @srg74 ESP01 shield.
If the shipping cost from US is prohibitive I am able provide a few from EU.

Thanks for your answer. I’ve used a 100k resistor, now it works with a 10k resistor.
