I have set up a few projects with esp-wroom-32. They were a little trouble downloading the software, but eventually worked. I tested all of them on the same light strips prior to assembling my project. ( a shelf with top and bottom lights ). During assembly I router the lights then did one final test to ensure everything worked prior to taping the lights onto the channels. All was fine until I pressed down the final end of a strip. The lights went out and the red led on the esp 32 would not come back on. I tried unplugging and reconnecting. I also tried reloading the software to update it. When connected to my computer, the red led will flash during the downloading process. I can get as far as install the software screen, but it gets stuck on that and never goes further. I cancel after 10 minutes and have retrie d several times. It did not take that many tries to get my initial download. This happens on 2 esp 32 , that were previously working on test setups. I have a 3rd on a working project that I do not want to do any testing on in fear of losing that one and having to redo that project
Hi please flash version 15 from the AUTO ONLINE Flash side
https://install.wled.me/
just hook it up to your PC USB goto the side and Flash it
see if the system workes from there
If that was stuck down to metal make sure that none of the wires/contacts at the end of the strip have touched the metal channel, else it may be shorting things out. You could even put a little bit of electrical tape behind the end of the strip to ensure nothing touches.
Also how do you have this setup wired? How is it all being powered?
-If you are trying to power it through the usb port on the Esp you may be overloading it (depending on your setup)
