ESP32 - ws2811 12V COB - 2 strings flickering

Hi there,
I´m currently frustrated as I´m trying now since 3 days to get my wled project working correctly. :confounded:

I have built up the current setup.
Wled is running with the actual version on a ESP-WROOM-32
2 LED strings a 2,4m with WS2811 12V COB
LevelShifter SN74AHCT125 is in place
PSU 12V 8.5A

The wiring is the following:

wled2046×1504 184 KB

Now I have the problem that always the strip connected to the 2nd output of the level shifter (2Y) is not working correctly. I get some ramdom flashing and blinking. The first output is working fine with both strips (If I switch them).

I tried already a 2nd ESP32 and a 2nd level shifter with the exact same results.

May I ask you for some help here?

Try removing the 68Ω resistor and see if it goes away.

Hi Jinx,
thanks for your fast response. Unfortunately I have already tried to remove the resistor but without the the blinking in wrong colours accours more often and doesn´t solve my problem.

How far from the controller is the flashing strip? You may need a data booster.

You may also want to try a 33Ω resister vs the 68Ω

thanks again for your comment. The data cable is 2m each strip.
But I have tried now some different resistors and had success with using 68Ω for one strip and 100Ω for the second one. Now it works perfect without any flashing. :smiley:
