Flickering on WS2811 12v

The title says most of the issue.

I have 300 WS2811s and when I set some animations ( not all ) some of the LEDs flicker from time to time. ( see video ( in slow mo so you can see the flicker )) The LEDs that flicker are not always the same and it does not matter the brightness level I have the LEDs set to the flickering just gets more dim or bright depending on the brightness level.

I am quite experienced with WLED so have tried all the usual tricks, there is a level shifter on the data line with a 68Ohm resistor in line. I have tried multiple controllers, including an of the self one I had lying around.

It has a 12v 10A power supply and I have set the output limit at 2A, Currently it is running of an ESP32 C3. I have not run power injection as the wife factor may go down if I have extra wires in places but that is the last thing on my list to try.

Any suggestions or advices would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you have faulty power supply. If you confident it’s good and controller close to led strip try to remove resistor on data line.

Hi,

Thanks for replying :folded_hands:. I have tried another smaller power supply to the same result. And no resistor on data, still the same. I’m now thinking it may be a dodgy pixel. Corrupting the data at some point. But tracking that down on a line of 300 sounds quite painful.

Might try a different plug socket just in case the one I have picked is dodgy.
