How to hide the ugly contacts on a black WS2812b stripe?

Hello Community,

in my current project I use black WS2812B LED stripes without any frosted glass or anything else in front. I realy like this style with one exception/problem: The Black stripe disappears on the black background, but the contacts between the LEDs disturb the overall picture.

I painted over them with black Edding and the result looks quite good. Now I like to ask if anyone has any other suggestions that might optimize the whole thing.

Thanks in advance!

Simon

I’d use a short piece (< 5cm) of smaller 22AWG wire to make the power connection and then “get out of site” somewhere to do the main connection. You can cover the actual solder point with liquid electrical tape to get a good matte black finish. The other alternative is rubberized waterproofing tape, which will stretch to fit and give a matte black finish.
