I have been loving the WLED library as my first step into ESP32 programming and …tinkering. I have my LED's configured and working well (32x8) 2812 panel and it all works fantastic. I've already got Python code that can remotely make posts both to /web using querystring vars (html) or newer /json which I can post json blocks to. I've got most things working like turning it off and on and changing the paramters of the effect being displayed and switching them. But what I can't do is change the text since the text that is displayed is tied to the segment name it is running under. I'm guessing this was a bit of a hack since there was no text field available for input on the effects (hopefully that changes some day since effects with word input especially with AI stuff would be legendary! Let me get down to the nitty gritty. What is the best way for me remotely from python to tell a ESP32 WLED device on my network to change to Scrolling Text event and change the text that it displays? Python ----------- effect_index = 122 response = requests.post(f"http://192.168.1.153/win&T=1&A=255&FX={effect_index}&SX=0&R=255&G=255&B=255&SEG=0") That successfully gets it to turn on and change to the scrolling text, but I've tried everything I can find, and nothing will change the name of first segment let alone any others. But if there is a way for me to rename the segments remotely and change their parameters I will be able to segment this display in 4 quads and send smaller text to the 4 corners to scroll for various things and start adding on way more modules. Ultimately I would like this in the background of my live stream as a large ticker people can observe and control during the show in chat. Thank you for all the work, installing WLED was a breeze and for never messing with Arduinos before this was a super pleasant experience.
