Hello and first of all thank you to all who have collaborated on this project!
I think public beta testing is great, especially in open-source projects. My only small feedback would be that I would like it better if pre-releaes also get the corresponding tag on GitHub.
Here is an example from ESPHome:
- A release: Release 2023.8.2 · esphome/esphome · GitHub
- A corresponding pre-release: Release 2023.8.0b4 · esphome/esphome · GitHub
My personal motivation for this request is that I have now streamlined all my update processes for the ESP firmwares via Home Assistant, but this way reasonably distributes only stable releases. For WLED I now get notifications about releases that I cannot install.
In general, I would say that it has great advantages, especially for inexperienced users who may overlook the small “b”. GitHub automatically links to the latest stable release on the project page and the user experience is improved.
What do you say?
Kind regards
