Led stripe doesn´t match tv after changing hardware

hi
I have a 3 sided selfmade Ambilight with a WS2812/ESP/WLED and hyperion.ng addon in Kodi. The light is not on the backside of the tv but in the wall behind.

…well, I had to change the tv. The new tv has different VESA Format and is mounted about 25 cm higher on the wall than the old tv.

So the first 13 and the last 13 LEDs in the stripe on the left and the right side are to much. Is it possible to disable the first and the last 13 LEDS ?

…or do I have to physically remove them and shorten the stripe on both sides?

i think there’s a “skip # of LEDs” option for the beginning. if you reduce “# of LEDs” you should be trimming at the end.

I believe that needs to be done in Hyperion, not wled.

skip LED doesn´t help
reducing the number of Leds in hyperion.ng crashed the hyperion server…
had to reinstall

well…
defining a Segment in WLED did the trick there
beginning with LED 14 and ending with 222 (having 236 LEDs in total)
now solid colour set in wled is matching the 3 TV sides again.

next thing will be to reconfigure and setup hyperion.ng again

looks like hyperion is ignoring the segment defined in wled

played aroud with the led Layout in hyperion.ng

crashed again

takes hours without fortune

For the last 13, just lie to WLED and reduce LED count by 13. At the beginning, you can edit the skip 1 routine in WLED and change it to skip 13. However, that probably will get ignored in the hyperion commands, so tell hyperion to skip the first 13. I do not think hyperion is wled segment aware since it is not part of the protocol hyperion is using.

I installed the newest Hyperion.ng Version for my device
I made an update to newest WLED stable Version, too

Skipping the last 13 LEDs isn´t a problem
but I did not find a solution for the first 13 LEDs
they won´t stay dark if controlled by hyperion.ng

interim Solution is:
in Hyperion.ng I configured the first 13 and the last 13 LEDs to be on the lower side.
Then I took black tape to hide them.

any better solution is welcome

Did you try to make them part of the “gap” in Hyperion?

yes I tried to configure with gap position and gap length
as already said it worked with the last 13 leds - but not with the first 13 leds

hyperion.ng is part of coreelec 9.2.4.2
addon version is 9.2.104

WLED is version is WLED_0.10.0_ESP32 or _ESP8266
