MQTT: How to determine of the LED is turned off?

status is “online” also if the LEDs are turned off (actually they also draw lots of power while turned off!!).
What to look out in the “v” topic for on/off status?

The only thing I could identify is that the brightness is turned to 0 when the LED strip is toggled to off. Thats not really great.

Yep, status is just a retained topic that tells clients whether the LEDs are currently online/reachable.
Brightness being 0 is currently the only way to tell that the LEDs are off. I know we need to improve the API soon :sweat_smile:
