I’m going for a WLED setup that’s around 150 cm long with approximately 70/80 LEDs. However, I want it to be future-proof. I kind of want it to support Matter, and I know WLED doesn’t support it (yet?). My question is, does the D1 Mini support Matter, or do I need the S2 Mini for that? Or do you folks have any suggestions on which esp32 should i use?

i see alot of people using D1 mini is there any reason not to pick just a esp32 c3 mini or something ?

I would stick with regular Esp32’s either regular node MCU style or D1 Mini style is fine. They are more powerful than any of the ‘s#’ or ‘c#’ variants.

I have no clue about future Matter support. If I were to guess I would think it would not be anytime soon.
