Am I missing something? I have 2 Amica branded nodemcu with WLED hooked up and they work great. Only thing when clicking the sync button, it doesn’t sync. Everything else works great, but would like to get this working as I will eventually have 4 or 5 of these and don’t want to have to match everything every time I change something.
If it helps my router is an ASUS RT-AC88U which I’m assuming may be part of it? I’ve tried for quite some time to figure out why no syncing and would appreciate if anybody could help me solve this. Thanks!
Thanks. I’ve double and triple checked the port number and all those options and they are identical on both. Does it just work for other people? Am I supposed to add any kind of port forwarding on the router or something?
Oh wow… Looks like the hours I’ve spent has paid off big time! I realized I switched my router out back in August. At the same time, my chromecast devices would take around 10-30 minutes to show up on my mobile phone. Really annoying. These nodemcu’s were behaving the same.
Just put 2 and 2 together and googled chromecast with my router and turns out the Asus RT-AC88U had a firmware break things for chromecast. Some people had it solved by disabling a setting called “Airtime Fairness” on the router.
After unchecking that setting on my router, chromecast devices show up immediately now as well as my nodemcu’s! Tried the sync feature and it all works great now!
