Based on my question: One time animation.
Would it be possible to incorporate an API request that activates one loop of an effect? It would be useful to use as a notification or just as a boot animation

I second this! Would be great to run the wipe for instance. To just turn the LEDs on one by one.

Would also really like this, trying to build a work around in node-red to save state, issue a preset, then revert to saved state is getting painful.
