Only the first green light on the whole strip

So i connected my esp32 with my ws2812b eco strip.Only the first light was green rest was off. So i thaught it was just my bad soldering that caused the problem. But when i connected the esp32 to only like 1-5 leds it worked perfectly and when i connected it to the whole 300led strip again only one green light.
I haven’t connected my power supply yet because i don’t think it is going to save the issue.

The first LED is likely bad. You could cut it off and start from the next one and see if it works Or connect your data to the data pad after the first led and see if they work.

Try setting your LED count to say maybe 10 in LED Preferences and see if you can get 10 to light. Don’t try to power/light 300 LEDs from the esp32’s usb port.

I got it working but i made a huge mistake

What was your mistake? And how did you fix it ? pls tell me I am having the same problem.

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. So one year ago for some reason only my first led showed a green light. I don’t know why but back then i was really scared of the power supply because I thought it was going to blow up or something like that after like a week I convinced myself and hooked it up with the LED strip and after that everything worked as intended.
So my problem was basically me being scared of the power supply
You may also want to check your data pins because maybe you got them connected wrong or they are not soldered on probably.

All the best
Oliver
