I’m using ESP to 24v COB led. I have Quinled data boosters but unsure of wiring on the data out side. Is it 3.3 and common ground on the “data in” side and 5v and common ground on the “data out” side? That’s how I remember using my last level shifter. Thanks for any help.
Data in connects to the data from your ESP. ground goes to ESP ground and the power supply ground. + goes to the power supply .
So, in my picture D and B go to ESP and 5v power supply common ground and A and C go to 5 volt power supply +. Is that correct? thanks
You only need one connection to the power supply. Additionally it is best to have the data/GND on the output side go directly to the strip (that’s why they’re there). I like to tie the power supply ground at the strip or at the ESP, whichever makes more sense.
Edit: if you’re confused about why there are three v+ terminals, the one on output is intended to be used with 3-wire cables that combine + - and Data into a single cable. You can use any though as makes sense for your wiring.
Thanks. Just to be clear, when you say power supply + do you mean the 5v I’m using for the ESP or the 24 volt which is for the LED? This is different from the level shifters I’ve used in the past so I am having trouble getting it.
It doesn’t matter since that device can use both voltages, but if you use this for voltage injection you have to use the 24v supply.
OK, thank you. I appreciate your help. I’ll try that out and let you know. Thanks.
