+RGB strip supported?

Hi,
Sorry - I’m sure this has been answered before, still I can’t find it.

I have an old +RGB strip of which the individual LED are probably not addressable. Are those strips supported at all ?

I know, WLED would be probably overkill for this type of strip, but I want my 11yo son to start having fun with it and seeking for an easy entry.

Yes, you would just need the correct hardware to drive it. Check the wiki for some products that can be bought and flashed.
