Hiya!
Overview
I have a setup with a couple long LED strips, about 300 pixels each. Its for a simple art gallery/venue space inside of a school bus.
I want to essentially create segments, presets, and then map the control (hue, brightness) of those onto some kind of controller.
Details
I am trying to create a simple setup that anyone can change using an off-the-shelf DMX (or MIDI) controller, something like this simple 6 x 5 DMX controller.
Also want it to be easy if a lighting designer wanted to come in and hook the setup to their own system. So making it ArtNet controllable and each pixel is its own address.
I would love to have some kind of setup with a few simple controls anyone can use
Strip 1 color, brightness, Strip 2 color, brightness, slider with some fun effects. Super dummy proof, built like a tank, will always work.
Does anyone have any recs for doing this in a simple way? I haven’t used the DMX Input into WLED yet, but it looks like it wouldnt exactly be what I want. The “Preset” mode would almost work, but i wont have individual control of color for each segment. Potentially the “Effect” or “Segment Effect” but I don’t think this would work either really?
Previous experience
In the past, Ive setup a computer running my favorite weird lighting software, Lightjams, and then mapped MIDI channels to different presets and controls. I’d love to avoid the inclusion of a computer if possible though.
