I have an Athom LED Strip Light Controller, currently running WLED 0.14.0-b1 (esp8266 build 2212222) which I cannot get to update to latest version.
When updating through Home Assistant I get an error message pop up saying:
Failed to call service update/install. Invalid response from WLED API
And if I use the WLED web interface I get:
Update failed!
Please check your file and retry!
Otherwise the box is running fine, just won’t update.
Any ideas/suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong?
I have the same problem, will look at trying it directly connected to computer…
Use the .gz file instead of the .bin file. The .bin file is too large, so the .gz file must be used.

That’s it, just downloaded the GZ file and manual update went straight through.
Sorry to reopen this one, but no GZ file this time:
Should be able to just download the correct .bin for your ESP and use 7zip to compress to .gz format.
