Wled ws2812b & Esp32 Wroom-32

Hello,

I’m a newbie to electronics trying to setup a 5m led strip in my room and be able to control it however I like through Touchdesigner, to hand gestures and audio and such.

However, can’t get through the first steps just yet. The WLED successfully installs the 0.14.3 (Doesn’t update to 0.14.4 even though it says installation complete after pressing ‘UPDATE WLED’ in the install.wled site) but no ‘WLED-AP’ shows up in my wifi list neither does it find any nearby wifi in the ‘Join Other…’ list. Yes I have wrote my wifi’s SSID and password manually and it keeps showing ‘Unable to connect’. My wifi is 2.4Ghz, 1-11 canals and is 10cm away from both the led strip and the ESP32. I have tried flashing using esphome-flasher-1.4.0 and WLED_0.14.4_ESP32.bin, it flashes successfully but nothing changes. I have tried the arduino IDE stuff also made the eps32’s red led blink making sure the sketches are uploading right and such, did all the arduino IDE solutions stuff and still not working. I am desperate to find a solution. also tried multiple USB-B, new used and all, all of them transfer data just fine, the cables are also new and all well connected, the ground and everything.

other things you may want to know:

it is not connected automatically and then hidden by behaviour, there is nothing that shows that its connected to my wifi in my router’s page. I have also tried to connect it to my phone’s hotspot and didn’t work.

IF you are Absulute beginner you shoudt start with 0,13,3
THIS Version has the most stable kernal
and stuff you are strugeling with like on V0,15,4 wont happen there

also the WIFI connection is there the best to work as a start
and start with some basic things like connecting and configurea 1meter 30NODE/LED stripe

there are different types out even at the 2812b that may change in Color configs like RGB and GBR
try also to get the power per led down CUSTOM 20mA

IF you own a WEMOS D1 on UNO BOARD Config you can do this all on the Board no extra Electronic needed

Hello, can’t afford to buy new stuff now. My problem is that it doesn’t connect to wifi, number of Leds and power supply are well configured accordingly, I did try 0.13 versions and still nothing changed, always same error doesnt show wifi list and is unable to connect when I enter SSID and password manually.

Does your router broadcast separate SSID’s for the 2.4g and 5g? If not you may have issues.
Also make sure Band Steering is turned off in the router.

I have deactivated the 5Ghz and set the canals to 11 only and the problem persists, also flashed with tasmota and the one you sent and still no WLED-AP appears. Flashed using a software and a .bin provided in the wled discord and it also didn’t fix the issue…

Maybe you have a bad Esp then.

@Taher can you post a zoomed in image on the ESP you are using
that woudt help us to ident your hardware
