Can't get athom ls-4p to work with ws2815

Hi,
I have a Athom LS-4P (firmware 0.13.0-b6) connected to a 16,4ft WS2815:
athom - ws2815
GND - GND
DAT - DI
CLK - BI
VCC - +12V

WLED are set to WS18x, Order: GRB.

No lights… I measure 5v between couple of the pins of the first led, but nothing on the next…

Any troubleshooting tips?

BI is backup data and should be tied to ground not to CLK

Yeah, I tried that also, but same result.

Is it any method to check if the strip is working, without the controller?
The external power adapters output is 19V, and I’m measuring 19V on the ledstrip’s soldering points, but 5V on the VCC/GND on the led itself. Could 19V have damaged something?

If the led strip is a 5v strip and you connected 19v to it you likely killed them. I am surprised they have not melted to be honest.

You would want to use a 5v power supply for 5v strips, 12 supply for 12v strips, 24v supply for 24v strips and so on.

Well, it’s 12V - but I get your point. I thought the LS-4P was able to convert the voltage from 19 to 12V.

Normally controllers are same voltage in and out. Generally the only voltage conversion is to drop the input voltage to 3.3v for the Esp chip, not the LED output.

You may have gotten lucky and only killed the first couple LEDs on the strip, if you want to try connecting your data a couple LEDs farther down the strip to see if they work, it’s worth a try.
