Hello everyone,
I’m not sure if this has already been discussed, but I’ve found that cheap and widely available USB-style hexagonal LED panels are actually easy to address and hack. They can be interconnected using standard USB ports or by plugging directly into the matching hex-shaped PCB connectors.
I just stripped an old USB female cable and used the red wire for +5V, the black wire for GND, and the white wire for DATA.
Each panel uses 7 LEDs per hexagon (WS281x), with the center LED being the first in each 7-LED segment group.
