Connectivity issues after 0.13.3?

Setup:
Module: NodeMcu ESP8266 ESP-12F
LEDs: WS2812B (5v) - 200 LEDs
Shifter: SN74AHCT125 (wired as shown in the one output example schematic)
PS: 5v @ 10A
Wifi: Nighthawk AX5400, WLED on 2.4GHz, in 700 sq ft apt (only maybe 10 devices on 2.4GHz)

Long story short(er), I decided to run a strip of LEDs in the hallway at the baseboard (about 15-20 feet away from my router with direct LOS). I flashed v0.15.0 onto one of the D1 Mini clones that I have, but I have been having nothing but issues with connectivity. It will constantly drop wifi after a couple of seconds and I cannot get stable signal. I swapped out the ESP for another one but encountered the same issue. *Rinse and repeat with a third ESP.

After trying a couple different ESPs, I decided to rollback the firmware. I tried 0.14.4 and 0.14.3 with no luck but when I jumped back to 0.13.3 (I haven’t tried anything between 0.13.3 & 0.14.3) and it works perfectly fine and I’m able to control everything like I have other projects in the past.

Am I running on junk clones, is there something stupid that I’m missing/overlooking, or is there something going on with the later releases of WLED? I am trying to integrate these lights with Home Assistant, so I unfortunately can’t leave it on 0.13.3. Has anyone else experienced something similar or found a fix for an issue like this?

may be a hardware issue, try a >470uF capacitor on the 3.3V rail (and maybe also the 5V rail).
