Device suddenly unresponsive

Hi. I have a 1m string of 144 ws2812b LEDs with a wemos mini d1 connected on mains power (I’m in the UK and it’s connected to a mains faceplate with a USB port). Suddenly, I can’t connect to it about 95% of the time.
The problem exists regardless of whether I try and connect using the WLED+ app or via the static IP address of the string of lights.

I had set it to a different wifi channel than my home network to avoid any kind of contention issue and initially that seemed to resolve the issue, then it suddenly became problematic again.

If I unplug and replug the lights, there is the initial flash which confirms that it is powered, and sometimes when it turns on, it’ll go to the default orange but then I can’t get to the lights to change the settings.

Please can someone help? I really don’t know what I’m doing with this unfortunately. The setup was made for me by someone I am no longer able to communicate with to get support from so I’m kind of feeling my way in the dark wtih this. I’m not the most computer-literate person and everything seems really technical and I’m feeling very lost and wondering whether I should just throw the damn thing away :frowning:

[Edit - this is about the closest I get 98% of the time, then just occasionally it will actually connect]

How far away is the controller from the router?

Can you connect to it if you power it up closer to your router?

Do you have your 2.4g and 5g bands separated? -There can be issues if you have the router auto negotiate the devices connecting to the 2.4 or 5g.

I would also try rebooting your router just to be sure it’s not the issue.

If you ever get to the WLED Wifi Settings page I would check the box to disable wifi sleep.

you may got a IP issue
as the Image TOP LEFT showes insecure connection !!
is it Direct connect or via a router
look in your smartphone for direct access to the Board

The USB on the faceplate may not be supplying enough power and the ESP may brown-out. Try using a power supply where you know what its output current is. 144 LEDs at full power will be over 5A
