Dig Quad suddenly isn't connecting to my LAN wifi after 16.0.1 update :(

Hi, not sure if anyone can help. I’ve had WLED set up with my lights using a Dig Quad for a few years now. I just went into WLED app on my iPhone today, and it prompted me to install 16.0.1 (from 16.0.0). I went ahead and did that, and it said the install was successful. However, I now cannot connect to the Dig Quad at all.

I tried removing the ESP32 chip and connecting it to my Macbook. I got it to connect via USB, and installed 16.0.0 successfully using @Quindor’s web-based install function. I was then able to connect to the QuinLED-AP wifi and access WLED on the ESP32, no problem. I then went into the network settings and set it up with my LAN wifi and password. But, it still will not connect to my LAN. Not only can’t I access it at the static IP assigned on my router to be DHCP’ed onto the ESP32 whenever it is powered up, but it’s not even appearing in my router’s list of connected clients. It’s simply not there.

I even tried pressing the factory reset button on the ESP32, reset it, installed 16.0.0 again, and again was able to connect to the QuinLED-AP wifi network and access WLED that way. But I cannot get it to connect to my LAN at all.

Any ideas for what else I can try? I’m stumped :frowning:

I think that’s a known issue with some versions of Dig-Quad boards.
See Github issue 5570

I’m not sure that’s what’s causing this (but I could be wrong). That Github issue seems to be talking about not being able to access it on 16.0.0. I can access it, upload new firmware, the whole nine yards–it’s just that the ESP32 won’t connect to my home LAN via wifi. It will even correctly detect my LAN wifi network when I click the “Scan” button–it’s just that it won’t connect to it.

Also, I think my WLED was running fine on 16.0.0–it’s only when I upgraded it to 16.0.1 that it went wonky. In any case, I’ve now tried installing various flavours of version 15 on it, and still seeing the same behaviour.

I had the same issue, in windows 11 I went it to networks & internet / advanced network settings/ reset network .

After resetting the network, reboot and you should be able to connect to wled-ap and access wled via 4.3.2.1
