ESP32 and 840 LED/m RGBCCT Cob Strip

As a complete newbie I am asking for a little help. I decided to install LED strips in coving in my daughters bedroom (16m perimeter) as part of a renovation and without understanding the complexity I went crazy and ordered the following:

4 x 5m strip : ( from AliExpress) WS2805 SPI COB RGBCCT Pixel Led Strip 4Pin 840 Leds/m FCOB Addressable Smart Led Lights Strip 24V 15MM PCB

2 x controller : (from Amazon) Bringhe ESP32 with CH340 ( ESP-32S, ESP32-WROOM-32D Module 2.4ghz wifi and Bluetooth 2 in 1 low power AP

3 x power block: ( from Amazon) Yoodi 240v to 24v Transformer, 300w Ultra slim LED driver 12.5A.

The coving is already up so I am trying to get this all working on the bench before installing. I connected on 5m strip onto D16 on the ESP32 and it started to light up some but not all of the LED’s. Cycling through the presets gets it lighting up random led’s but then leaving them on when I hit the power icon. Can anyone recommend the best way to set these up? Should I use multiple GPIO pins, or even multiple controllers ? for 5m there are 4200 LED’s so would I need to gut that strip in half and have it split between two GPIO pins? what are the limits for one controller ? AliExpress do not show the power draw per LED, however would just one of these 12.5A power blocks be enough and should I inject them and different places. Also do I need a D signal repeater?

you are most probably missing a levelshifter. Other Hardware - WLED Project

There are 840 LEDs/m, but not 840 IC control chips. You need to put the # of addressable IC Control chips the strip has in WLED not the total # of LEDS. Between each cut mark on the strip is how many LEDs light as ‘1’ address. So even though you have 840 LEDs/m you will have large bands of single colors (the distance between cut marks). To get the correct # of addressable chips you can check the manufactures specs or count how many cut sections you have in 1 meter and multiply it by 5.
