Govee Permanent Outdoor lights flickering

Hi,

I’m pretty new to WLED so this might be a rookie mistake. I have a QuinLED Quad which i’ve setup on a 12v supply with some generic lights off AliExpress which works great. I now want to add a second channel, my Govee Permanet Outdoor lights. I’ve taken their 36v transformer and attached it to the 240v in of my 12v transform, then directly connected the lights to the 36v out with the data being connected to the LED 2 output of the QuinLED.

The lights are initially the correct colour, but then start randomly flashing other colours - this is after setting the colour to be solid on WLED.

In the WLED interface I have this set WS281x RGB with a node length of 12 (only 1 segment connected).

I’ve double-checked all the connections and the flashing stops when I remove the data connection, which leads me to think there is something wrong in my WLED settings - but now i’m stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use common ground.

Common ground between which points? Both the transformers share the same negative. Do I also need to share the ground somewhere else?

Either from the transformers, or from the QuinnLED board?

Adding a wiring diagram in case I am missing something.

You do. Common ground.
All grounds (0V or V-) should be tied. Do not confuse Neutral or Earth (from AC) with ground (from DC).

Basically, adding the thick green wire in this diagram. Do I also need to tie it into the V- in of the QuinLED board?

That should work.
