I have read that the AP that comes with WLED can function as a network to sync multiple controllers. Does anyone know how to do this, or if it’s a good idea? I have a huge project of 7200 leds running off 6 controllers but there is no wifi where they are to be installed. If anyone has advise please share.
AP may be unreliable as it is run on the same controller driving LEDs.
Consider installing cheap wifi router just for the wifi purposes.

Yep, last I looked, a small, travel router was US$20.
Depending on how much distance you plan on having between controllers, you can always program an extra ESP to act as the AP for everything
