Heltec esp32

Hello all,

I am trying to use a heltec esp32.
My steps

1.custom build esp32dev
2.Transfer the bin
3. try to connect in ap mode

Unfortunately point 3 does not work … it says password is wrong.

I don’t know what I have to configure.
Maybe someone has a working heltec esp32 environment

Thanks

Is there really no one here who has a heltec esp32 in use ?

While I don’t have that particular ESP32 board, the AP login is pretty basic for any device.

What device (computer/phone/laptop/pad) are you using and what browser?

Have you tried a different device/browser?

@divsys thank you, yes the login should work since the ap is visible only that the PW is not accepted.

I have now tried the login from mac, linux and android. Unfortunately without success

So far I have only ; default_envs = esp32dev

tried.

I will try some ready builds in a moment.

Have you tried flashing the board with the install.wled.me site using a Chrome browser? That gives you the option to connect directly to the WLED config page and config the WiFi settings. Also has 0.13.3 builds available.

I’ll take a look at that and try it out

I have now tested all versions once and installed via the web interface. Unfortunately without success.

I will test the esp32 now without wled.

What I noticed.
Is the encoding in the logs…

First and last row

?data

That’s a good sign that WLED is installed and working properly.

Had similar issues with a ESP32 board, Default and other platforms don’t work.
But install.wled.me does for me.

After long debugging,
I was able to find the error.

It is a hardware problem or the design of the board.

The built-in wifi antenna is no good.
When I put my Finger on it everything works.

Thanks

if it’s this: WiFi Kit 32 (Phaseout) – Heltec Automation It says it’s discontinued. Maybe they had issues with them. If those screws are attaching an lcd on the other side maybe the screen is reducing the wifi signal.
