How to set all LEDS to do the same?

Hi,

I have 3D printed a couple of lamp shades that I’m trying to illuminate with a 12 LED WS2812 ring with a mini ESP32 and ideally from Home Assistant.

All that works to a degree, I can run the various effects directly off the ESP32 with the WLED web interface and change some things from HA, but I can’t quite see the relationship between the settings on the ESP32 and HA?

Secondly, could someone advise if there is a preset that would have all the LEDs the same colour but slowly cycle them though the rainbow. Because it’s illuminating the entire shade I think it would be more effective if all the LEDS were displaying the same colour / brightness, and being able to switch it to just white light, when I wanted ‘lighr’, rather than a mood light etc please?

use grouping in segment settings.

Ah, that seems to have covered that bit (thanks), now I just need to learn how to manage WLED from Home Assistant.

Like, I might like an automation that turn the lamp on into ‘mood’ mode (slowly cycling though all the colours at full brightness) but could then be told to go into all on (full white) to make it a real light etc.

I don’t know if that’s even possible?

Regarding HA integration - you should see the presets, playlists etc on the device integration page. You can write automations to trigger any of those. I suggest you create playlists for the effects you want and then call them up in HA automations.
Good luck

If you want to Turn all LEDs to bricht White, Just Set the effect ‘solid’, choose color and brightness, then save as preser. Make sure to tick the Option for including brightness.
To cycle all LEDs through a colour Shift, under ‘segments’ set grouping to the respective number of LEDs and Check ‘save segment bounds’ upon saving the preset. Just use an effect Like with Rainbow fades.
