LED setup keeps resetting

New generic setup… QuinLED-Dig-Quad board powered by 200 watt power supply, and connected to a roll of SK6812 RGBW LED strip (60 LEDs per meter). Currently running WLED version 0.13.1, build 2203150. I set the first output channel to use SK6812 RGBW from the drop-down menu, and set the length to 300. All the LEDs light up.

So far, so good.

Testing the brightness – weak, almost certainly not acceptable for under-cabinet lighting. Up the current from 850 milliamps to 1000, and then 2000. Switch the LEDs to full white, then black, and…

Hey, somewhere in here the first 25 or so LEDs are the only ones responding. Check the LED settings in WLED, and the first channel settings have reverted to factory settings (WS281x and a length of 30). What the hell?

I switch it back and save it (again), and it lasts for maybe a minute, then reverts. Have done this about four or five times now. What is going on? Why would WLED lose its mind and reset the settings for the strips?

I would try installing a newer firmware version from here: https://wled-install.github.io/

Thanks. But I know that is the generic suggestion for any issue. With all due respect: is this a known issue that is solved by that firmware upgrade?

Did you ever have it working? If not, sometimes the firmware does not flash correctly. Also 13.1 is quite an old firmware and there was some version that had issues with SK6812 LEDs I think. 13.1 is from way back in Mar 2022. Many many changes have been made since then.

As @Jinx said you may want to try most recent firmware (currently 0.14-b4).

If you insist on “stable” release then update to 0.13.3.
If that fails to resolve your issue then report back.
