mDNS and WLED

I’m struggling to get mDNS to work with my WLED devices. It’s possible I’m doing something wrong.

I have both windows and linux machines on my network. I can ping the ip of the device but the mDNS does not seem to work (at least consistently). I was able to ping wled-custom.local once on initial set-up but now to no avail. I’ve tried installing avahi zerconf. Just not sure what to do.

The best answer, Use the IP address or setup a dns server. Mdns is inherently unreliable.

Pihole can be run on a pi and setup as dns server. Some routers can manage it also.
