We are looking for help with our WLED Projekt.
We built a led matrix and intend to use it live as a Performance Objekt.
So the app with its sliders and buttons to select and control all the effects and so on is quite nice, but the control via knobs and pads would be even better, so you can perform in an live environment.
What already have is a small html script that runs within chrome browser to control via midi the brightness, effect intensity and switch between presets. In addition we have a window to show the original wled app, so that you can use this seamlessly as well.
What we try to achieve is a full midi mapping on most controls in the app.
I would call this live performance mode.
Is there anyone out there who feels this as well?
I have only very small coding skills and all of the code that I have was made by ChatGPT , which is quite nerve wracking.
I would very much prefer to work with some real persons as well.

Hi frankofino — threads like this one are exactly what shaped it. “A full MIDI mapping on most controls” is the right instinct, and I wrote it down as an open convention so it isn’t tied to one script: notes → colour/power, CC → brightness/effect/hue/sat, Program Change → presets, MIDI clock → on-the-beat — 100% local over WLED’s JSON API.
I just posted it as a topic here: Wled-midi — an open convention to drive WLED from any DAW / MIDI controller (MIT) — the repo is openlamp/wled-midi on GitHub (spec + a tiny reference resolver + a reference implementation), so you (or ChatGPT ) can wire your HTML controller to a stable mapping instead of reinventing one. For a live matrix like yours, the note/CC/preset mappings should cover most of what you described.
