I’m brand new so I apologize if this is dumb. So I’m using a Nodemcu ESP8266 to control my strip lights. I have the power supply on a timed outlet. Every time the power comes on as scheduled I have to physically hit the RST button to get WLED to load. Is there any way around this?
It is better to leave wled running and automatically send a power off command to the esp
I don’t disagree but I was trying to save wear on my power supply.
That’s odd behavior. Sounds like your powersupply may not coming up cleanly and the ESP8266 isn’t booting properly. Can you try a different PS? Also, do you observe the same behavior when you leave the powersuppy running but disconnect power from the ESP8266 itself?
I’ve had the same problem. For me the solution was to use the micro usb connector to power the nodemcu instead of the +5V pin. You can try.
