I have been using PXMAGIC on a 16x16 matrix with great success. I now have been trying to experiment with a two 16x16 matrices (16x32) and trying to create an image just in the middle with the top and bottom space showing an effect. I have the 3 segments, top (16x8), image (16x16), and bottom (16x8). When saving a image as a preset with PXMAGIC, as expected, it only write the image segment of the preset. After savings, I click on the preset and add effects on the “top” and “bottom” segments only, but the image in the “image” segment disappears. Is there any way that I can have pixelart with additional segment running effects?
There is a limit of how big (or complex) pixel art/image is in JSON format.
The way i tested and it worked is by creating the 3 segments first prior to using PXMAGIC , few things i noticed when testing , it is somewhat buggy and I faced preset corruption so make sure you are on a test unit
Thank you for testing and yes, I too constantly end up with preset corruption. I presume “3SEG-PIC-OK” only sends JSON changes to the middle PIC segment. I want to save a 3SEG-PIC-OK” with the two other segment effects so that I can then make playlists that randomly cycle through different images with different accompanying effects on the segments. If I were to click on 3SEG-PIC-OK and then try to uncheck segment 1, to edit the effect just on segment 0 and segment 2, the smiley in segment 1 for me will disappear.
Yeah i seen also the pic will disappear so as said doing the 3 segments with a pic and two other effects is buggy . Might work but some unpredictable result specially when saving presets , might be look at using only two segments , automating the same without presets or physically separating the fixtures which are all ugly workarounds
