I want to put my power supply on a fuse from the outlet. How do I calculate the awg & fuse amperage needed for a 24v 600w power supply ? Thanks
You really should not need a fuse for the AC side of your power supply. It is no different than any other thing you plug into an outlet. You Should for sure fuse the DC output(s) of the power supply that go to your LEDs though. Those fuses would depend on the wire you have used and how much current you intend to pass through that wire.
If you are set on adding a fuse to the AC side, make sure it is rated for what the PSU specs.
I really don’t see the point. Any decent PSU should have protections built in and your house has breakers/fuses. Do you have a fuse added to your computer power supply? They are essentially the same thing…
While your description is all basically correct, the OP was asking about “a fuse on the outlet”, ie the high voltage side.
As @jinx described, that’s not usually an issue for a bought supply.
