Wifi from ESP32 board not broadcasting

Hello,

I am having issues with several ESP32 boards with WLED installed on them. At one time, a couple years ago, I was actually connected to the app through wled and everything was working great. at one point, i lost power, and lost connection, and it never came back. I have tried several, probably a dozen, ESP32 and 8266 boards. Most recently, i bought a gledopto unit and was actually able to connect! one time…

the problem i continue to have is that the wifi does not broadcast from the board. the gledopto unit did once or twice and i could connect to it directly from my phone only. I changed the light colors and let it be. i could not find it again after that, not in my wifi settings nor connecting through the app. the light strip stayed lit. it is still on now, actually, but has not changed back to orange and i can’t connect again without presumably resetting the board.

what am i missing?? i’m going crazy, i just want my lights back lol

Thing’s I’ve tried that have worked: un/replug; erase flash/reinstall WLED, use a WiFi sniffer (Fing).

Thanks for the reply. I’ve done the first 2 an unheard of amount of times, with no success. This is the first time hearing about a wifi sniffer…i’ll check into that. thanks!

I have an Arris/Eero router combo that would not let my ESP32-WROOM-2-32U connect because it will not recognize any device that has a Capital, Space, or Period in it’s name. After changing my chip’s name in the WLED >Config >WiFi Settings from T.C.#1 to tc1, it connected. Good Luck!
