Wifi interference with 11 ESP32 devices on a table!

Hi all

I run a course on WLED. I use this controller. I have 10 participants’ devices plus my demo device.

The first time I ran the course, I connected all the devices to the local wifi. I had lots of connection timeouts and dropped connections.

The second time I ran the course, I put each device into Wireless AP mode and got each participant to connect to their mobile phone.

This time I had no problem establishing a connection, but I still had problems maintaining the connection. My guess is wifi channel interference, given 11 controllers trying to connect to 11 mobile phones around a single table.

Can anyone comment on my guess and suggest any mitigations.

The room wifi is not under my control and I have no access to diagnostics.

you can change AP channels in the settings, maybe not all of them using the default channel helps

Compile WLED yourself and include build flag WLED_AP_SSD_UNIQUE.
