Wired Networking

Hi,
Is there a way to add an Ethernet connection to the ESP module to then use with WLED?

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

For hardware, check: https://www.olimex.com/Products/IoT/ESP32/ESP32-POE-ISO/open-source-hardware, even POE is possible.
How to get it to work: i am not smart if it comes down to programing but there are a lot of programming samples.

This is currently not supported by WLED, but I would also love to see this, so I’ve just filed an issue here:

Hi, just registering my support on this as well. I bought a PoE Olimex board and was very careful to isolate the PoE from USB nevertheless for whatever reason the board never worked out of the box for me.

I’m building a new home and want to build a reactive stair controller. I really hope WLED can do a lot of the heavy lifting here, but I need it to use Ethernet if possible, for very long term reliability.

@hazymat did the Poe board power the esp board at all?

@Thedannymullen I made a video about my experience with the Olimex here: https://youtu.be/vKi6qM2ovZU?t=27
