WLED and ESPixelStick V3 with D1 Mini Pro

I am going to deploy some 10w LED flood lights into my landscape. Plan is to use WLED, an ESPixelStick V3 and a D1 Mini Pro with an external antenna. I need the external antenna du to the distance of the control to the WiFi AP and the block walls of the house.
WLED version 0.14.0-b1
Issue I am having is that when the power comes on the D1 Mini does not always seem to boot into WLED and the control screen is not visible. However if I press the reset on the processor it loads up WLED and all is well. Fine on the bench but not practical once deployed to the landscape.

Thoughts and suggestions

Thanks in advanceMike

Where is your controller in relation to the first LED in your setup?

You may also have an issue with the GPIO you’re using to drive the strip and/or the reset pin on your board.
Also look at your power for the board and lights, how are you powering this whole setup?
