When working with larger or multi-zone WLED setups (such as stage lighting, architectural installations, or synchronized home displays), mapping and synchronizing effect data across multiple WLED instances can be quite cumbersome. Currently, configuring precise effect coordination, layout mapping, and state management between different controllers requires a lot of manual configuration or external scripting, making it difficult to achieve fluid, coordinated lighting setups across separate devices without complexity.
I did build a effect mapping and synchronization workflow GitHub - tobiasvalbjorn/WLED-FX-mapper · GitHub
Ideally, this would provide:
-
A streamlined way to map effect and pixel layouts across multiple WLED nodes.
-
Better out-of-the-box synchronization and coordination for multi-device setups.
-
An intuitive approach to handle effect data distribution smoothly without heavy custom configurations.
-
build for homeassistant intergration.
Additional Context
I built a companion utility app named WLED-FX-mapper ( GitHub - tobiasvalbjorn/WLED-FX-mapper · GitHub ) to address this specific workflow for advanced lighting projects. Integrating or drawing inspiration from this kind of workflow directly into WLED would make multi-controller configurations much more accessible for complex installations.
