I am new to WLED!! I purchased 6 Ericsity ESP32 LED Controllers for a project on my lake house deck railing. I followed the instructions to initially set up the controller by clicking on “WLED-AP” when searching for WiFi on my iPhone. Then I entered my WiFi name and password and all was good. My problem is now I have 2 controllers that are not showing up anymore for me to control. I have tried to re-enter my WiFi settings but I am unable to get WLED-AP to show up again on my WiFi searching. I am using my iPhone for all of this.
I need to know how to get WLED-AP to show up again on my WiFi to start the process all over again.
Are you sure it isn’t connected to your Wifi network? Maybe the IP changed if you did not reserve a static one in your router? Do you have the WLED-Native app? If not, download that and make sure your phone is connected to your wifi network and have the app search for WLED devices.
The best way would be to reserve one within your routers admin panel.
Likely under something like Lan settings or DHCP settings. Hard to say all routers/brands have different GUI’s
Second best option would be entering it in WLED’s Wifi Setup. However if your router assigns whatever IP you put there you may run into issues. If you use the above option to reserve the IP in your router it will never assign it to another device.
Use some wire and touch it to gpio 0 and gnd pin for 6 sec if you can find it on that controller. Those GLED-Depot controllers are not the best designed.
Does the device show up in the app?
You could reinstall the WLED firmware using the micro USB port
Or
You could turn off your router to make sure it is not connecting to it (as I bet that it is connecting to it) and the AP should show up after 30 to 60 sec.
The other solution to get the WLED=AP to show up is to just take the controller to a mates house, fire it up and mess with the settings. It won’t let you connect it to your own wifi settings but at least that will give you the option to make it show at bootup.
On this sections change the ‘No connection after boot’ to ‘Always’
Don’t forget to change it back after you get everything fixed.
Regarding the fixed IP address, it might be easier to just fix them in the WLED WiFi page so they don’t move, rather than going digging in your router settings if you don’t know what you are doing.
You will find something like this on the wifi page:
Change the IP address to match the IP address of the WLED and change the router to match your router IP. This should mean that they never change IP.
Take note that this can still be an issue. If your controller is not connected to your wifi for any reason and your router assigns that set ip to something else you will again have issues.
