Does anyone have a suggestion on how to save static light patterns in WLED. I am a first time user and not interested in lights chasing each other…I would just like static patterns for different events…thoughts?
Just save in the slots, as you would with anything else… Unless you are using segments.
Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, I am unable to create simple static patterns. For example to mimic holly over my garage I have 60 leds. All should be white except at the peak of my house they should be green with one red. No blinking, or chasing. Just a static pattern. Then for Halloween I want another static pattern. Three orange followed by three purple then three orange. Again, no blinking or chasing of lights and no music. Looking for simple static patterns for specific holidays. Any help or insight would be awesome!
Example attached.
That looks like you are using segments. If so, you can only save one for now (slot 16).
Those are old fashion Christmas lights in the photo. I only want to go on my roof one more time so I thought about adding LEDs instead. Is there another way to accomplish this look and the others that I mentioned without segments? The segments look like a great idea but as you said, only one can be saved currently.
Maybe at some point the http API will allow setting up segments by using a web browser.
Then you can configure the http call, test it, and save as favorites / shortcuts with appropriate names so you can configure and activate them on demand.
You can use xLights and E1.31 in WLED to set up anything you want, but that feels like overkill for what you want.
If there is already an API call that can set up segments, hopefully someone will share that here??
Aircoookie says json is suggested for segment manipulation.
I was reading over the JSON API for segments earlier today (but after I posted the above).
I see why he would say that !!
