PSU: mean well lrs-100-5
Controller: Gledopto GL-C-618WL
Led: SK6812 (4.15m - 249 leds, 60 leds/m)
I used this controller for the power output, it should have been enough but I can’t make it to work.
I’ve attached an image in it you can see the setup with a test led strip (SK6812 - 1m, 60 leds)
Also I’ve connected to the WLED AP from the controller, configured the leds correctly (sk6812, 60leds, gpio 16).
I get no power and I am wondering what I did wrong here (tested the strip separately from this setup and it works just fine)
Any ideas what I did wrong or what I can test to figure this out?
Thank you!
Wiring looks ok, and I’m 99% sure thats the 5v version of the SK6812 so voltage should be correct. Double check that you’ve got the right GPIO and LED type set in WLED settings.
That can work if you just want to see how good (or bad) the data is level shifted.
You need to change the protocol from SK6812 to ON/OFF in the WLED config.
That way you’re not measuring a modulated data stream with your meter (often doesn’t read at all), just an ON or OFF state.
Should be < 1V off and > 4V on.
Just remember to put the protocol back to “regular” when you want to light your strip.
Gledopto has its own WLED fork if you use WLED to update it will cut the power output. You either jump the power in to the power out or use OEM Gledopto WLED builds.
The only way you would lose power output is if the controller has a relay and that relay gpio setting gets lost from the update (which it likely would). No need to jump anything. Just reconfig the relay gpio…
